At DDAA and DDAA LAB, we are always searching for talented design staff. We seek individuals who are interested in our work and who share our vision.

・About Our Work

DDAA is an architecture and design office active in a wide range of fields, including architecture, urban planning, landscape, interior design, product design, and concept development. Our work spans from small-scale products including vases, extension cords, and stools, to large-scale projects such as houses, commercial facilities, mobility design, parks, and urban redevelopment projects ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of square meters. Regardless of scale, we aim to create designs that generate new value.

All our projects are approached experimentally. In recent years, our work has gone beyond simple design to rethinking programs and processes themselves, leading to projects that defy conventional frameworks. Through this, we seek to expand the possibilities of design and propose new ways of shaping society.

In addition to client work, DDAA operates its own platform, DDAA LAB, where we independently pursue socially conscious, experimental design grounded in architectural thinking. We explore the questions and interests arising from client work through research, prototyping, exhibition planning, alongside the editing and publishing of books and zines. This allows us to regularly share our diverse interests and knowledge—not only in urban, spatial, and product design, but also in editorial and graphic design—through various outputs.

・Our Philosophy

The only shared language within DDAA is the commitment to delivering high-quality design. We are looking for people who can achieve the highest quality while enjoying the design process itself.

Our current definition of high quality is a socially engaged “novelty” combined with “experimentation.” Because we pursue socially relevant yet unprecedented experimental designs, our process naturally takes time. That’s why we place great importance on “increasing the time available for creative work” and “eliminating things that steal time.” In other words, achieving our desired quality begins with controlling the schedule.

The most common time-waster is stressful time, and most stress comes from human relationships. Therefore, communication—both internal and external—is extremely important to us.

As most stress stems from interpersonal issues, we do not hire individuals who speak harshly toward others, are aggressive, or repeatedly make negative comments—whether in real life or on social media. This is also the most important factor in our personnel evaluations after hiring.
